| Action | Valerenates bind to GABA-A receptors, the same receptors as benzodiazepines, but with 10× lower affinity. Hence the calming effect without brutal sedation and without risk of physical dependence. Valerian also inhibits GABA-transaminase (the enzyme that degrades GABA), thus increasing the natural concentration of this calming neurotransmitter. |
Unlike benzodiazepines, Valerian does not cause physical dependence. You can use it as a course and then stop without withdrawal symptoms, a fundamental clinical advantage.

Usage Instructions
Recommended Dosage
- Sleep: 2 to 3 capsules 30 minutes before bedtime
- Serenity / daytime: 1 to 2 capsules as needed
- Benzodiazepine withdrawal: 2 to 3 capsules/day while reducing treatment by 1/4 per week, mandatory medical supervision
