Origin & Tradition	Plant from French and European phytotherapeutic tradition. Unlike opium poppy (Papaver somniferum), it contains no morphine or opiates.
Active Molecules	Rhoeadine (main isoquinoline alkaloid) · Eschscholtzine · Flavonoids.
Action	Rhoeadine exerts a mild sedative effect on the central nervous system without causing excessive daytime drowsiness. Reduces pre-sleep anxiety and promotes rapid sleep onset. No risk of dependence at dietary doses.

Red Poppy is often confused with opium poppy, but it has none of its narcotic properties. It is a safe plant, listed in the French Pharmacopoeia.

Eschscholtzia californica

Origin & Tradition	Native to California, traditionally used by Native American peoples for its sedative properties. Popular in European phytotherapy since the 19th century.
