Evening Primrose — Complete Lipid Profile
Oenothera biennis (cold-pressed seed)
| Origin & Tradition | Biennial plant native to North America, naturalized in Europe. Its yellow flowers open in the evening, hence its name. Used in phytotherapy since the 1970s for its feminine properties. |
| Active Molecules | Linoleic acid (Omega 6, 65-75%) · GLA (gamma-linolenic acid, 7-10%) · Oleic acid (7-10%) · Natural vitamin E. |
| Action | GLA (100 mg / 2 caps): precursor of anti-inflammatory prostaglandins E1, contributes to premenstrual comfort and the second phase of the cycle. Linoleic acid (650 mg / 2 caps): EFSA claim on normal skin. Direct precursor of skin ceramides. Oleic acid: mild anti-inflammatory and cardioprotective. |
The unique combination of Evening Primrose + Borage in the Derpha beauty protocol covers all essential Omega 6 needs: Evening Primrose for overall beauty, Premenstrual Syndrome, and mucous membranes.
Derpha Monthly Protocol
Day 1 → Day 15: Phytescens Femme F15-45: supports overall cycle balance (estrogenic phase)
Day 16 → End of Cycle: Phytescens Enothéra: targets the luteal phase (GLA/PGE1 deficiency)
After ovulation (Day 14-15), the body enters the luteal phase. The deficiency in GLA is most noticeable here; PGE1 (derived from GLA) must counterbalance pro-inflammatory PGE2. Hence the protocol: Evening Primrose in the second half of the cycle.
Recommended Combinations
For complete beauty support, combine with Gamma Plus. During menopause: combine with Minceur-Rétention F21. For overall cycle support, follow the monthly protocol with Femme F15-45.
